April 5-12: Body

When was the last time you dropped your awareness into your body? Instead of playing the typical mental movie of all the ways things could transpire, take a moment to feel as much into your body as possible.  Ask yourself, “Am I aware of my breathing? How do my legs and arms feel? If my body could talk, what would it say?”.  Notice your jaw softening and your shoulders dropping.  You may think that paying attention to your body like this is frivolous, something the non-anxious can luxuriate in, but the path to becoming less burdened by anxiety is found by unplugging from the mental chatter of our minds and being in our bodies.  Can you allow your awareness to hang out with the body for the moment?
